Transforming an ordinary backyard into a personal sanctuary, this project combines luxury and functionality to create an inviting outdoor living space.
Our client gave us two missions:
1. Create the best outdoor dining experience with a covered area to allow for all-weather use.
2. Make his brother-in-law jealous as hell!
We believe we’ve smashed these missions out of the water! The property in Halsall village, built over 150-200 years ago, has a farm style to it. With this in mind, we opted for rough sawn timbers for the kitchen and sandstone paving. During construction, we uncovered a hidden well feature and decided to suspend lights down it— the deepest light reaching nearly 17 meters down with the bottom still not in sight! It’s covered with toughened glass for safe walkovers.
Adjacent to the sauna is a state-of-the-art outdoor kitchen, equipped with a modern stovetop that invites culinary creativity in the open air. The kitchen’s strategic placement under a sheltered pergola ensures usability in various weather conditions while maintaining an intimate connection with the natural surroundings.
The elegant patio area is paved with high-quality stone, seamlessly linking the different components of the sanctuary. Comfortable wicker seating clusters offer space for gatherings or solitary moments of peace, complemented by lush potted plants that add life and vibrancy to the setting.
This outdoor covered cooking, dining, and entertaining area surpassed even our wildest imagination. The backyard transformation embodies the harmonious blend of style and practicality, delivering an exquisite space that caters to relaxation and entertainment. Here, the vision of a peaceful sanctuary has truly come to life, providing a perfect escape from the daily grind while enhancing the home’s overall appeal.
